Public Appearances

Free | Dates and locations to be confirmed

In the weeks leading up to Festival Ball, Public Appearances will be held at several of Oahu's major shopping centers. The purpose of these appearances is not only to introduce this year's contestants and promote the Festival, but also to showcase aspects of Japanese culture to the community. Each appearance will start promptly at 12:00 noon.

Cultural entertainment, such as performances of taiko (Japanese drums), karate (Martial Arts), or odori (Japanese dance), will herald the beginning of the program. Followed by the introduction of Cherry Blossom Festival Queen and Court, who will share their festival experiences. Next is the introduction of the Queen Contestants participating in this year's festival. Emcee will ask each of the contestants to answer a question on a variety of subjects. Through this question and answer experience, each contestant will gain valuable practice in sharpening her public speaking skills, developing her poise and increasing her self-confidence.
